ABOUT ME
'Behind the Camera'
Hi!
My name is Mauro. I was born in Turin, Italy, and currently residing in Bergen (Haukeland), Norway.
I'm a geologist by profession and a freelance photographer by passion. Travel is my enriching addiction, offering growth, mind-expansion, and meaningful connections. It’s a transformative journey where joys and challenges continue to shape me.
In 2015, during my Ph.D. studies in New Zealand (known for its stunning landscapes), I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D5500. This camera began my photography journey and, for nearly a decade, has been a trusted companion in my adventures across continents. More recently, I opted for a mirrorless Fujifilm X-T5 paired with the FUJINON XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR II lens, marking a new chapter in my pursuit of higher image quality and creative possibilities.

'My Photography'
My photography spans serene natural landscapes and vibrant cityscapes (especially at night). Recently, I’ve embraced emotional portraits and boudoir photography as a new creative avenue.
Photography is my way to discover, connect, and express beyond words. Each frame is a fragment of my journey, a dialogue between the world I see and the feelings it evokes. It's not just capturing moments, but sharing how I experience them.
'Extra'
In addition to photography, I have a passion for drawing and painting. I take great interest in reinterpreting my photographs on canvas, skilfully blending realism with artistic creativity. This approach enables me to transform captured moments into unique and personalized visual representations.
