Bunes Beach 📍 lies on the remote western side of the island of Moskenesøya in the Lofoten archipelago, accessible only by ferry from Reine to Vindstad followed by a scenic hike. It is a vast stretch of pale sand framed by towering cliffs and open to the full force of the Norwegian Sea. In winter, the snow-dusted peaks and the raw Arctic light create a wild, untamed beauty, while in summer the beach becomes an otherworldly spot to watch the midnight sun.


'...Local stories tell of the beach once being used as a landing site for supplies and mail, with villagers braving rough seas to reach Vindstad. On one occasion, a violent storm forced a delivery boat to beach itself on the sand rather than risk the cliffs.
