Saksun Lagoon 📍 is a serene tidal, magic lagoon nestled between steep green cliffs on the northwest coast of Streymoy, the largest of the Faroe Islands. Once a deep natural harbour, it was slowly sealed off from the ocean by sand carried in by powerful storms, forming the shallow, mirror-like waters seen today. The tiny village of Saksun, with its turf-roofed houses and white church, adds a timeless charm to the dramatic scenery.
