The Vidden Trail 📍 is one of Bergen’s most iconic hikes, linking Mount Ulriken, the city’s highest peak at 643 meters, to Mount Fløyen, which overlooks the historic center and harbor. Stretching roughly 13 kilometers across open highland terrain, the trail offers sweeping views over Bergen, the surrounding fjords, and, on clear days, even the distant North Sea. In winter, the route transforms into a snowy plateau, with a crisp Arctic light and a silence broken only by the crunch of boots on snow.

The hikers made it safely, and the cabin owner, who happened to be baking skillingsboller, Bergen’s famous cinnamon buns, has since been affectionately nicknamed “the baker who saved the Vidden trekkers.”...'
