'Landscape & Local Story'

Hvannasund 📍 is a small fishing village located on the west coast of Viðoy, one of the northernmost islands of the Faroe Islands. Nestled between dramatic mountains and the North Atlantic Ocean, the village offers a striking contrast of rugged cliffs, rolling green hills, and quiet harbor life. With just a few hundred inhabitants, Hvannasund is known for its strong connection to the sea, its traditional Faroese lifestyle, and its role as a gateway to the neighboring island of Svínoy, accessible by ferry from the village. The peaceful atmosphere and unspoiled surroundings make it a place where time seems to move at a slower pace.

The event became a part of community memory, retold through generations as a reminder of the raw and unpredictable forces of nature that shape life on these remote islands....'
